Through this series of cyanotypes, created using sunlight, I aim to explore our complex relationship with the environment, reflecting the ever-changing landscape around us. The crumpled landscape images aim to challenge our relationship with the environment and its importance in contemporary society. Embodying the delicate balance of nature, the sculptures intend to reflect a sense of fragility, juxtaposing the working progress of our landscape against the formal gallery space.
These prints are not static images; they are manipulated, scrunched, and transformed into sculptural constructs proposed to embody the tension between nature and human intervention. Mirroring our lasting and often destructive impact, these transformed landscapes intend to blur the boundaries between art, nature, and human intervention.
In the current climate crisis, where the planet is burning, these works allow us to question how the landscape can offer contemplation and enjoyment, in this increasingly difficult context.
